“Erta Ale (or Ertale or Irta’ale) is a consistently lively basaltic defend volcano in the Afar Area of northeastern Ethiopia. It is situated in the Afar Melancholy, a badland desert region spanning the border with Eritrea. Erta Ale is the most lively volcano in Ethiopia.”
Erta Ale is 613 metres (two,011 ft) high, with 1 or occasionally two lively lava lakes at the summit which at times overflow on the south side of the volcano. It is noteworthy for holding the longest-existing lava lake, existing considering that the early yrs of the twentieth century (1906). Volcanoes with lava lakes are extremely unusual: there are only six in the entire world.
